About Me

Hi friends! My name is Arianna, and I'm a 23-year-old Filipina-American with a light obsession for productivity and creativity, and a strong affinity for people. I'm originally from Washington State, and am attending college in Nashville, Tennessee.

My first camera was a Nikon D3100 which I hauled around Yellowstone during a family road trip in 2011. You can see this big black beast of a camera hanging around my skinny frame in all our family pictures. My shots from that trip might be collecting digital dust on my mom's hard drive, but they sparked a love affair with all things photography.

Fueled by a homeschooling-induced thirst for knowledge, I embarked on a quest to learn as much as I could about my camera, photo composition, and whatever the heck the exposure triangle was. Fast-forward more than a decade later, and I've developed a keen eye for special moments, and a photojournalistic shooting style that enables me to capture these as they happen without interference.

My photography philosophy is to seek out the truth, goodness, and beauty in a moment, and draw them into the story I'm telling. This starts from the moment I meet you, the client. I want to know and understand your story, whether that be as an individual, as a couple, or as an event. What are the highlights of your story? What are those small details that make it yours that others might not know?

It's my job to learn and discover these things, so that my photos can share a window into that world and story.

But what else do you do?

Fun Fact: I've been shooting a camera for slightly longer than I've been shooting a bow! (Yes, that is a Team USA jersey above. Yes, it's mine :) I've shot recurve archery for the past 10 years, and competed nationally for 4. The pictured uniform is from the 2018 World Archery Field Championships in Cortina, Italy. I didn't win any medals, but I did get to spend a week with some incredible people in one of the most breathtaking places in God's creation. Seriously, go visit Cortina if you have a chance.

If I'm not shooting photos or spending time with friends, I'm studying for classes as an Electrical and Computer Engineering major at Vanderbilt University. Pursuing a STEM degree can at times be as painful as it sounds, but I'm lucky to be surrounded by fantastic friends and understanding professors. On campus, I'm a tour guide, a student leader for Catholic campus ministry, and a staff photographer for our student paper. This extrovert is certainly at her best when surrounded by good people.

After college, I hope to work as a Software Engineer, while continuing my passion for storytelling through content and photography :)
